ok, so strait up, i am a fan of (most of) the gundam franchise.
i be pleased the telling and re-telling of what, in the new release gundam series was obviously a derivation of the fable of World War II. for the most portion it remains the same as it always has been in terms of the record itself.

With gundam SEED however, current wrinkles such as friendly character developement and the enriched quality of story-telling which is for the most fraction only surpassed by the quality of the art (the entire series being considered to be this art) as a whole can bee seen.
The yarn of Gundam SEED: Destiny is as grand about Shin Asuka as it is about Athrun Zala and toward the extinguish of the series is distinguished more about establishing a greater notion of the strength of Athrun’s relationship with Kira Yamato (the protagonist of Gundam SEED) even in their divergent paths in their have lives, and about what it means to fight, and to have something for which to fight than it is specifically about Shin.
I enjoyed Seed Destiny both because SEED (the core note) is my popular rendition of the Gundam legend to date (out of a reminiscence for that which i care greatly) and because the sage itself is considerable darker. it is to Gundam SEED what Stardust Memory is to the unique Gundam series, more/less.
all of “our heroes” both in ZAFT and OMNI (the earth federation’s space-bourne military from whom Kira fights in SEED) have grown up, and the world has with them.

anyway, its all very refreshing, and all of the characters fit their rolls very well and for the most share are likable. i must confess, i have not seen (nor do i care to) the english dub, as it was Ugly(!) in the english release of Gundam SEED (almost all of the anime i look is either fan-subbed, or i verbalize enough japanese to follow it without subs when they arent available. generally i frown on dubbing unless mountainous care is taken, however, if the only plot you are going to experience this stout series is dubbed, so be it.
The four episodes on this disk are essentially of Shinn and Athrun getting to know each other before the major events occur later on in the series. There’s plenty of foreshadowing of what Athrun will do later on in the series within the dialogue.
Fanboys of Kira Yamato will be disapointed because in this volume his character once again takes a assist seat as opposed to the last two episodes in volume three when he took center stage. In two of the episodes on this volume he doesn’t appear at all. Anyway in the first episode we notice Cagalli yelling at Kira, Lacus, Murrue Ramius and Andrew Waltfeld for apprehending her during her wedding in the previous episode. They don’t spell out exactly what the Archangel is going to do but most fans can select a guess. The rest of the episode is basically Athrun showing up to be portion of the Minerva Crew with the Saviour Gundam. Lunamaria having a crush on Athrun is satisfied to peruse him, but Shinn isn’t thrilled at all that he must now respond him as an equal. Athrun also learns about Cagalli’s wedding and kidnapping.
The second episode is easily the best of the volume and one of the best episodes of the entire series. The three Earth forces pilots, Sting, Auel and Stella along with their leader Neo Roanoke return to defeat the Minerva. The action was salubrious! The whole position surrounding Shinn was though-provoking. He saved civilians being forced into slave labor, but he disobeyed orders. Given that is was Athrun telling Shinn off I kind of agree with what Shinn did. When Athrun was fighting the Chaos Gundam it felt like he was holding wait on, meaning he spent more time evading, dodging rather than attacking. A very friendly episode.
The third episode was really a transitional one, setting up the next episode with all the action. The scene when two crew members of the Minerva commenting on Lacus’s (Meer’s) body, how lucky Athrun is to be engaged to her and joking about how easy it would be to carve some of the Saviour Gundam’s wires with Athrun stating he could hear them was humorous. The only relevant thing to near out of this episode was the last few minutes with Shinn and Athrun conversing. Shinn points out that there’s really no reason for Athrun to be with ZAFT. Given how Athrun acts through out most of this volume Shinn makes sense. Besides Athrun being the bridge between the unusual and traditional characters for the sake of the status Athrun’s actions don’t build since till later on.
The last episode isn’t as obedient as the second but tranquil genuine fun. Being a Shinn fan doesn’t mean I don’t respond that he has flaws. I’m not a diehard fanboy, Shinn does act immature every so often. Level-headed I’d rather listen to him brag then Kira’s ‘Holier than Thou’ attitude.
Really another large volume of Gundam Seed Destiny that you must watch!
